v11: Jesus Christ is the Good Shepherd.
v12: People love to write books and put out their opinions about how to do life. Many other people devote their lives to studying these books, as Solomon did, but unlike him, they never learn this is fruitless. Instead, we should follow the Good Shepherd and His Book and do as the next two verses say. If we do read other words of wisdom, as the apostle Paul did, then it is most important to use our God-given and created brains to take every thought captive to Jesus Christ and His way as2 Corinthians 10 5 says.
