So Jack Burkowitz is a host on CFRB now?

Speaking of CFRB, there was a station playing country music under it last night.

WTWW on 5745 comes in just as well as 5755 did.

I must apologize for the bad review I gave of the film "Courageous" after seeing the trailer several months ago. I watched it Friday night and it is actually a pretty good movie.

It is like three movies in one: a mixture of action and drama with a bit of comedy thrown in. It also does deal with corruption in the workplace.

The weather band on my shortwave was working last night.

Picked up CIAO 530 using my shortwave radio for the first time last night.

TSN Radio Montreal is on 690 now.

Picked up WWV for the first time a few weeks ago. Usually I can only get CHU.

This afternoon, I heard my friend doing a break when I was talking to him on the phone while he was doing his airshift.

Picked up WBZA Rochester tonight.

Heard a bit of Mike Huckaby on WOR tonight. I should call him and give an update on the progress of our National Igloo.

Why do you have to post pictures with your profile on certain social networking sites?

Just discovered you can use the backspace key to return to the webpage you were on previously.

Downloaded the latest version of Free YouTube To MP3 Converter. It works so much faster than the previous version I had.

WOR was coming in well last night with Dr. Joy Brown.

Picked up ESPN Deports on 1050 from New York last night.

It's cool the host of "Musical Memories" on WWCR has her own YouTube channel.

Picked up Deutsche Welle near 9480 Saturday night.

Someone hire J.J. Wright, please. The fact he is not currently working is a bloody shame.

Last night, George Strombolopoulus said "... for those of you who still have cable." Could this indicate the number of people cancelling their cable and satilite subscriptions is greater than we realize?

That Velveta biscuits commercial is pretty funny.

There is someone live on 91x but I just heard a prerecorded weather forecast from Greg Schatsmann. On the other hand, it sounds like it could possibly be voicetracked.

This Tuesday, WTWW will be switching their nighttime frequency from 5755 to 5745. The government says they need the former frequency.

Went to CKLN's site and it appears the domain has been sold to Regent Park Focus.

Cudos to Fiverr for not having a screen capcha or anything else inaccessible on their sign-up form.

I like the Podbean format.

Checked out a blog about burgers today. However, it was just reviews of burgers from fast food restaurants, as opposed to burgers from local restaurants which would have been more interesting.

Listened to the whole Strombo Show Sunday night.

Visited CBC Music but I couldn't get any of the streams to play.

Congratulations to Kristine Ha on winning "Master Chef."

I think the station I heard under 680 News the other night was WRKO.

A few nights ago 680 News had a station under it with Michael Savage.

It was good to hear Alvin Law on the news several weeks ago commenting on the apology by the makers of tholydomide. This broadcaster and motivational speaker came to the school for the blind when I was there. He gave a really great talk and taught me that when you are disabled, people may look at you strangely and ask you weird questions, which is understandable because you do some things differently than able-bodied individuals.

WBCQ 7490 didn't fade out last night.

If you're going to have a blog and a podcast, either have them on separate websites or have them on separate pages of your website. Alternatively, have a sidebar with links to the podcasts. If I want to download the previous episodes of your podcast, I shouldn't have to scroll through a whole bunch of blog posts.

Have just discovered the backspace key lets you return to the page you were on previously.

For four really great podcasts, click here.

Tonight an Indian guy called me from some company and said he wanted to save me money on my hydro bill. He said this applied to people whose hydro bills were over eighty dollars. I said my hydro bill was under eighty dollars. He replied he could definitely see on his computer that it was in fact over eighty dollars.

That guy wasn't looking at my account because if he had he would have seen my last bill was seventy dollars and my previous bills have been in the seventy-six dollar range.

Sometimes, these people can be so obvious.

Friday night, WBCQ 7490 faded out at quarter to nine, yet last night it was coming in clear as a bell after 11:00.

Last night my computer speakers were picking up an unidentified station in an unidentified language.

Picked up the BBC in Pashto and Voice of Russia in Spanish last night.

Wanted to listen to VSI Radio on WBCQ last night but there was another program on at that time called "The Word" with Brother Mike. It was good. Mike has a unique way of bringing out things.

Easy Rock Niagara was coming in well all Monday.

Missed the season premier of "This Is That" this morning.

The following is based on a Wintley Phipps tape I found in a bag of cassettes someone gave me.

"... that carried a race of people through slavery."

Not thirty seconds later Phipps will say there's no such thing as race. Possibly he is doubleminded.

"The word race is not in the Bible."

Neither is the word cigarette but it's still wrong to smoke.

"This whole notion of race I believe is demonically inspired and man created."

Oh come on. Sure, the word race isn't in Scripture but it's obvious there are different "subdivisions of humanity" and different ethnic groups within those subdivisions.

"... but racism is the belief that within those differing subdivisions are varying intellectual capacities and abilities."

I don't know about intellectual ability so much, but it is obvious that different races and ethnic groups have different traits which are prominent and different things they excell at.

"Now, what you will hear is "When I Didn't Have Money To Pay The Rent Jesus Came Through On Time."

While God of course supplies the needs of all His children, maybe if some of those people in that black church hadn't spent their rent money on rims, keeping up with the bills wouldn't have been such a struggle.

"And one of the things we need to learn to do is to openly, wonderfully celebrate the differences.

Well, except for those horrible white people because they've caused all the problems in the world and don't have a culture or anything worth celebrating.

This basically sounds like the same politically correct thinking that only thinks of differences between peoples as things such as dress and food.

I would agree that we need to celebrate the differences in that we should acknowledge that different people groups have differing prominent traits and abilities, then figure out how those traits can best be used to benefit the church and society as a whole. Of course, all the time we need to keep in mind that there will always be those in a group that don't fit the steriotype.

The problem with our "equality" oriented thinking is that it asumes everyone is equally good at everything. This, by the way, is one of the fundamental problems with the public school system: it presupposes each student should do well in every subject. Then when the student shows they don't have the aptitude for a particular subject, the child is labelled as stupid or "learning disabled."

We all have different abilities and other characteristics on an individual level, so why shouldn't the same be true on a grand scale?

"One of my most favourite quotes in "The Spirit of Prophecy" says ..."

So this guy is talking about celebrating differences and yet he is a Seventh-day Adventist. Seventh-day Adventists don't so much like differences. They want everybody to be the same, eating the same, reading the same books, having the same careers, and studying the same religious materials at the same time. As much as many of them are good people, I choose to have an arms-length relationship with them because it seems as if they want their people to be too much the same.

This, by the way, is the problem with all denominations. The attitude persists that if someone were a true Christian, they would be doing the same thing as the rest of us are doing. However, with true Christianity, except for baptism for the remission of sins and communion, God leads each of us down a different path.

Ellen G. White, by the way, also said (plagarised?) that certain "races" were the product of intercourse between humans and animals.

Recently started corresponding with a pen pal by email. He emailed me back in the form of an audio file recorded over a phone. Pretty neat.

Phoned Bell today and got someone who was Hispanic as opposed to someone who was Indian.

Ustream is truly awesome. I can even watch the Kenyan parliament on there.

Couldn't get WBCQ 7490 or 9330 Friday night.

Picked up AM 990 Rochester Friday night.

There doesn't appear to be a temporary radio station on the air covering the motorcycle races this year.
