A woman in California launched a website in hopes of finding Mr. Right.

While some approach dating by swiping on apps and others work up the courage to approach a stranger at a bar, one California woman decided she needed to up the antics if she wanted to find Mr. Right.

After three months in development, Lisa Catalano, 41, launched “ Marry Lisa,” a website aimed at helping her find her forever partner, according to a Sept. 2 Facebook post on her account.

But “Marry Lisa” isn’t some poorly organized dating profile, instead the site comes equipped with “fast facts” about her, including her political party, weight and the fact that she wants to be married with kids in the next two to three years.

But Catalano didn’t stop at the site – now she’s advertising her quest for love on billboards throughout the area, she said in a Sept. 17 TikTok.

“Every time I got a little frustrated with the dating scene within Silicon Valley and the Bay Area, I would work a little bit on my website. It started off kind of almost a joke. I can do this myself; I can do this myself. I can do it and then I was thinking maybe that is not a crazy of an idea after all and the I said I have to promote the website somehow and what is more local than a billboard?” she told KGO.

I’m trying to find a husband, and I’m doing it by renting billboard space on highway 101 in the #sanfrancisco Bay Area!

She rented space on 12 digital billboards in Silicon Valley between Santa Clara and San Francisco in hopes it would help attract potential suitors to her website, she said on TikTok.

In her earlier years, Catalano didn’t focus on dating, but in her thirties she was in a long term relationship and engaged to be married, but her fiance was terminally ill and died in 2023, she said on the website.

Eventually, Catalano got into another relationship, but when the man “wasn’t willing to commit” she left and eventually created “Marry Lisa,” she wrote.

The website even has videos where Catalano reveals whether she’s OK with kissing on the first date and who she thinks should grab the bill at the end of a meal.

For some, sifting through the website might feel like you’ve already gone on a date with Catalano as she even shares her “favorite things,” like music choices of Taylor Swift and Celine Dion, and miscellaneous facts like how she likes black cats and stain removal.

As for what the internet thinks of Catalano marketing herself, some users “respect her hustle” with one person writing, “I am completely invested in your story, Lisa!”

“Rooting for you Lisa, the love of your life is out there, and I hope I get to see your billboard when commuting to work sometime,” another wrote.

As for others, they don’t think Catalano’s perfect man even lives in the Bay Area, with one person poking fun at the dating scene there by saying, “Smart idea, but you might get more attention from Bay Area men if you put yourself on the Blockchain.”

“Dating in the Bay Area is so bad,” someone said.

“He’s not in the Bay Area 😭 maybe try advertising in the airport, international side lol,” another wrote.
