BOOK THOUGHTS: SHORT STORIES, WITH ONE NOTABLE EXCEPTION; SOUTHERN LITERATURE WITH ONE EXCEPTION

Read a couple stories by Isabella Alden a while ago. She really understood what it was to be a Christian and could take aspects of the human condition and bring them to life in a stunningly relatable and gripping way.

Am reading "Gone With the Wind." You could read every line of that book three times.

Just finished reading today a collection of stories by Eudora Welty. She wrote such vivid descriptions of nature and her similes were out of this world.

Am now reading a collection of stories by William Faulkner. He could write top-notch prose, regardless if it was in the typical style the third person took in his day or whether it was in the first person of a little farmboy.
