A Minnesota woman had her giraffe poop seized by U.S. customs agents at the Minneapolis airport. No joke.

She had apparently brought it home from a trip to Kenya and planned on making a necklace out of it.

Yes, a poop necklace — out of this:

Apparently that's a thing. If you look around on the internet, you can find people selling all kinds of poop necklaces.

Here's a guy selling a Moose-poop necklace. His expression seems appropriate:

But look, if you're going to run a poop-jewelry business, you've got to get ahead of the competition. I mean everyone's doing moose poop these days.

Giraffe poop could have been the next big thing that pushed moose poop into the number two spot!

Except, it turns out that importing poop from other countries is illegal because while it's fun to say the word poop (and I've said poop a lot in this article), actual poop is gross and it carries diseases ... and there are a lot of exotic diseases in Kenya, like:

African Swine Fever, Classical Swine Fever, Newcastle disease, Foot and Mouth disease, and Swine Vesicular Disease.

So maybe it's not a great idea to wear poop like an accessory.

The customs agents destroyed the exotic poop with steam in accordance with safe disposal practices, and the poor poop-obsessed Minnesotan woman had to watch her profits get flushed away.
