Chick-fil-A is giving fans of summer something to look forward to as the summer winds down with fall just around the corner.
Debuting on Aug. 18, the chain's limited-time-only new fall menu will feature a Cherry Berry & Sprite soda, as well as Chick-fil-A Sauce Flavored Waffle Potato Chips and include the nationwide rollout of the Pretzel Cheddar Club, which was previously limited to select locations.
“We are always looking for ways to surprise our guests with new and unique menu offerings," said Chick-fil-A’s director of menu and packaging Allison Duncan. “This year’s fall lineup presents even more opportunities for Guests to customize and make them their own.”
The Cherry Berry drink collection is returning again after its successful launch in 2024, and the new Sprite twist to the collection marks Chick-fil-A’s first-ever seasonal soda. PEOPLE got an early taste test of both of the new menu items and the refined classics returning to U.S. locations later this month.
The Cherry Berry & Sprite beverage is bustling with tangy and fruity flavor, but the carbonation and tartness from medley of berries may elicit an initial sour reaction. Nonetheless, the drink is still enjoyable and even has hints of the special-edition Sprite Cranberry.
Among the drinks returning for the season are the Cherry Berry Lemonade, Cherry Berry Frosted Lemonade and Cherry Berry Sunjoy. Out of the three, the Cherry Berry Frosted Lemonade is a standout, a flavorful upgrade to the regular Frosted Lemonade. The drink is enjoyable as a late night treat, but also as a refresher in the hot autumn heat.
The chain will also roll out two new variations of potato chips.
The Original Flavor Waffle Potato Chips will return but with a efined cut, more closely resembling Chick-fil-A's signature Waffle Fries.
The fast food chain is also launching Chick-fil-A Sauce Flavored Waffle Potato Chips.
A PEOPLE insider tip from Chick-fil-A? Try double dipping these chips into the actual Chick-fil-A sauce for a smoky combo. The new chips are also tasty by themselves, too — the blend of umami barbecue, tangy mustard and creamy ranch flavors come together in a flavorful combination.
The chips will be a permanent addition to the menu starting Aug. 18, and will be sold in retail stores in select locations across the Atlantic and Southeast regions in the fall.
After a successful test run in Raleigh, N.C., the chain's Pretzel Cheddar Club Sandwich will make its national debut due to popular demand, per Chick-fil-A.
“The Pretzel Cheddar Club Sandwich offers the perfect complement [to the drinks],” Duncan said. “It’s savory with layers of flavor that feel indulgent, yet distinctly Chick-fil-A.”
The sandwich features a buttery and toasted pretzel bun, lettuce, sliced tomato, cheddar cheese, strips of applewood smoked bacon and a side of Creamy Dijon Mustard Sauce. The dijon mustard sauce is also a limited edition item, and PEOPLE recommends using a generous amount of it as its acidity cuts through the rich flavor of the fried chicken.
Customers can choose from the original fried chicken filet, a spicy one or grilled version of the Pretzel Cheddar Club. The chicken breasts for all three are tender and melt in the mouth — however, the show stopper for us was the grilled chicken. With hints of lemon and rosemary, this sandwich was difficult to put down, yet felt light and fresh.
The Cherry Berry beverage collection, Original and Chick-fil-A Sauce Flavored Waffle Potato Chips and Pretzel Cheddar Club Sandwiches will be available in Chick-fil-A locations nationwide on Aug. 18.
