Listened to the one episode of "Truth or Consequences" that I have in my archives. It was from December 21, 1947 and featured paralyzed veteran Hubert Smith of Greenville, Tennessee receiving Christmas greetings and visits from folks in his hometown. Astounding what it must have taken to put that together.
Listened to an episode of "Bride and Groom" from May 29, 1947. They obviously didn't believe in the superstition that it's bad luck for the groom to see the bride before the wedding. Second, at least they had the decency not to broadcast the ceremony. Third, they gave away women's underwear on air!
Listened to part of an episode of "Welcome Travelers" from the summer of 1952. A very interesting program. The concept reminds me of "Roving Microphone" from CKNW Vancouver.
Listened to "Kiss and Make Up" from July 15, 1946. The husband of the second couple mentions pushing a baby carriage around the grocery store. Did they not have shopping carts by then? To me, the case involving the fourth couple hints at the marriage being in trouble.
Due to the vagaries of search engines, couldn't find any episodes of the otr program "Rebuttal."
