Heard the album by turn-of-the-millennium female country trio Lace a week ago. It is certainly a cut above a lot of other country records.
Have been seeking out and listening to very early country music the last few days: from Eck Robertson to Ernest Stoneman.
Just listened to Godspeed You Black Emperor "Lift Your Skinny Fists...." It is out of this world. Reminds me of For Tet. Indeed different from any popular Canadian music that was out at the time.
