MEDIA-RELATED STUFF: DID I PICK UP A PIRATE FRIDAY NIGHT?

While DXing the FM band Friday night, I landed on 99.5 and a few seconds of Limp Bizkit's "My Generation" (unedited) before abruptly switching to another song.

Picked up WDCX Buffalo a couple days recently with Chuck Swindoll, Charles Stanley, John McArthur, and J. Vernon McGee.

Enjoyed hearing Kevin McCullough last night on WHKW Cleveland.

Sad to hear of the death of Coleen Jones. I didn't even know she was sick. I used to watch her on "CBC Morning News", taking on more and more responsibilities as budgets shrunk, to the point of doing the sports and talking about her curling performance, referring to herself in the third person.

Picked up CIUT-FM Toronto Monday night with "Veritable Infusion" followed by "6 Degrees." I heard this station on the stereo in the living room.

Live 88.5 Ottawa was also coming in Monday night, on the stereo in my kitchen.

Life FM Barrie has a lot more teaching programs than it used to.

Picked up Virgin 99 Toronto Monday night, too.

"Guaranteed human" is a most disingenuous slogan for iHeart, the poster company for radio consolidation.

Good to see some sell-offs of stations by sizable U.S. media outlets to local companies this week. Let's hope it continues in earnest.

Not surprised Rich Valdes got fired from Westwood One. He was too soft-spoken.

CBC is all noise, no news.

Looks like Kevin McCullough took over for Eric Metaxas early. I thought he was supposed to start in his new timeslot this coming Monday.
