A Texas-inspired Whopper with brisket on it is coming to Burger King’s menu soon

Burger King’s latest menu item is for the brisket lovers.

 

Starting July 15, Burger King is rolling out its newest menu item nationwide: the BBQ Brisket Whopper, a smoky, savory twist on its iconic flame-grilled burger.

 

It’s the first release from the fast food chain’s new “Whopper by You” platform — a campaign that lets fan create future menu items.

 

And for anyone on a budget (or just craving a smaller bite), the BBQ Brisket Whopper Jr. is also hitting stores the same day. Here’s what you need to know.

 

What’s in Burger King’s new BBQ Brisket Whopper?

 

According to a news release, the BBQ Brisket Whopper features:

• Slow-cooked barbecue brisket

• Crispy onions

• American cheese

• Sweet & golden barbecue sauce

• Lettuce, tomato and creamy mayo — all stacked on a flame-grilled beef patty

The Jr. version offers the same flavor profile in a smaller size. Prices start at $7.99 for the regular Whopper and $4.79 for the Whopper Jr., though they may vary depending on location.

 

Can I really create my own Whopper at Burger King?

 

Yes, and you might even get rewarded for it.

 

The BBQ Brisket Whopper is the first creation to launch from “Whopper by You,” a new fan-driven platform inviting customers to submit their dream Whopper ideas. Whether that’s spicy, cheesy, extra saucy or something totally unexpected, Burger King wants to hear it.

 

And with every submission, fans can get access to a Royal Perks reward, which is a randomized offer that could include anything from free cheeseburgers to a one-cent Whopper every week for a year.

 

“We’re excited to kick off the ‘Whopper by You’ platform with the BBQ Brisket Whopper, a flavor profile that our Guests requested,” Burger King US&C Chief Marketing Officer Joel Yashinsky write in the news release. “We are very excited to answer with an overwhelming ‘You Rule!’”

 

Creative Burger King fans can start sharing their ideas at the Whopper By You website on July 15.
