LOVE'S SIMPLEST ELEMENT

The other day I talked a little bit about joy, today's focus is on another fruit of the spirit. That delicious fruit on the plate is love. That thing you get from your family, spouse, friends, and that thing that one must spread to the masses.

There is an element of love that is just as essential as water and food. Do you know what that is? It's a proper hug.

Why am I bringing this up? Because it's something of great importance. It's a small gesture, but it can warm hearts, soothe sadness, and fill your heart with sunshine.

How does one perform this simple element of love? First one must stretch out their arms, fold the saddened party inside, and add some reassurance and encouragement.

Hugs love and blessings

There is a difference between the love family members have for each other and the kind of love Christians are to have for our fellow man.

There have been times when I could actually feel our Heavenly Father holding my on His lap. During those times (and some others) when I was allowed and enabled to feel just how close He was, I would be trembling--as if sorely afraid. Hence, what it really means to be in the fear of the Lord. Of course, most of the members of the Christian community I have been allowed and enabled to interact with the past 20 years or so consider me to be plumb nuts (at best). Sigh.

Rather like Isaiah?

Yes, my dear Alex, and there are also the very close encounters given to Abraham, Moses, Job, the Apostle Paul and many others. I hope I never become too used to being in His very presence, which is somewhat different than having His Holy Spirit living within me, but it is not nearly as much of a shock to my system these days. I sure hope Ms. Gillie honors us with her presence in this discussion (and others, of course).
