SEVERAL MORE BLASTS FROM THE PAST

98.3 CFLY-FM Kingston from late 1981, Don Robinson closing a Sunday edition of all that jazz. He mentioned the tenth anniversary show would be next Saturday and told listeners to stay tuned for "Sunday Sunday" followed by old-time radio shows. Board op was Anna Zanetti. Sponsor was Wally's of London. Then part of intro to "Sunday Sunday." Then into WNCQ Watertown with ID and country music with anncr frontselling songs.

OJ 95.5 (CJOJ-FM) Belleville from early 1995 ID mentioning Sub-Way Ski Get-away, the prize being a ski weekend for two at Mont Tremblant. Another ID saying "Pure OJ, no additives or preservatives."

Kiss 98.5 (WKSE-FM) Buffalo in the middle of a 30-minute music marathon, ID-ing as Kiss 98 and a half. On the other side of the tape, CFNY then into CFGM with annual program of Christmas music.

680 CFTR Toronto from summer 1982, jingle announcing "commercial-free Sunday." Then into CFNY. On the other side of the tape, 97 Rock (WGRF-FM) Buffalo anncr frontselling song, ID inviting listeners to tune into "Headphones Only" at midnight.

103.1 CFMX-FM Coburg from 1986 "Sounds Great" with Don Newlands. On the other side of the tape, WVOR Rochester Greg Allen hosting "Heart of Gold."

104.5 CHUM-FM Toronto from a Saturday in the fall of 1984 Melanie Deveau with a classic albums weekend, playing Led Zeppelin II, then back into regular programming with 37 minutes of nonstop rock. Announced morning show was giving a free trip for two to Runaway Bay, Jamaica. Accidentally referred to morning show host Gord James as Gord Johnson.

1320 CFGM Toronto broadcasting concert featuring Canadian country acts. Then into regular programming on CFGM, band Whisky Jack introducing one of their songs and saying they were going to be doing a concert later on. Then into unidentified station with male and female host playing show tunes.

OJ 95.5 (CJOJ-FM) Belleville  from March 1997, Paul Ferguson counting down "The Juice Top 40." With an honesty that would never be heard on radio today, he actually said a new album wasn't that good.

The Wolf 101.5 (CKWF-FM) Peterborough from August 1992, Brian Ellis giving time of 2:12 and inviting listeners to contribute jokes for morning show host Mike Cooper's S J of the D, as well as inviting listeners to submit scripts for the soap opera parody "As the Wolf Howls." In fact, listeners could win a weekend getaway for two at the Ambassador Hotel in Kingston.

FM 108 (CING-FM) Burlington from 1985 anncr with English accent backselling songs and talking about David Clayton Thomas in Rio de Janeiro. Beginning of commercial for Cedar Springs Ski Shop.

98.3 CFLY-FM Kingston unknown anncr giving time of 10:41 and inviting listeners to stay tuned for "The Royal Reporter." Beginning of commercial for Lotto 6/49.
