A frustrating read with an important message.
The author, a member of Parliament, tells the story of the mining boom that occurred in the northern Ontario town of Cobalt between 1903 and 1921, also discussing some of the history afterwords and talking about the importance this metal will have in the near future.
Angus tells a history that is both shocking and amusing, informing his readers while warning them through showing the greed and folly of the mining companies and those who aided and abetted them during the boom a century ago. If you can get through the woke smoke this book contains, you can't help but come away with the message, "Now we have a second chance. Let's do things right."
