MOTHER ARRESTED FOR GETTING HER BOY A TATTOO, DOCTOR SAYS CHILDREN INCAPABLE OF MAKING BODY-ALTERING DECISIONS

Not the Bee

The NYT says a mother was arrested for getting her boy a tattoo, quoting a doctor who says kids don't have the "agency" to make body-altering decisions.

A 10-year-old boy walked into the nurse's office of his school in Highland, New York, and asked for Vaseline. He wanted to rub it onto his new tattoo, which he got with his mother's permission.

The nurse called the police. The boy's mother was arrested.

A 10-Year-Old Got a Tattoo. His Mother Was Arrested.

In New York State, you must be at least 18 to get a tattoo. Elsewhere, the rules are different — and perceptions are changing.

The short version of this story is that a mom in Higland, NY was arrested because she let her son get his name as a tattoo on the inside of his forearm.

But I want to draw you to this sentence that explains why she was arrested:

New York State forbids anyone younger than 18 from getting tattooed with or without parental consent.

Hmm. Interesting.

Why is that?

It is a situation that Dr. Cora Bruener, a pediatrician and professor at the University of Washington Medical Center's Seattle Children's Hospital, and author of guidance on tattoos for pediatricians, issued by the American Academy of Pediatric Medicine, finds troubling.

"It is a permanent mark or a symbol you are putting on your body, and I don't think kids under 18 have that kind of agency to make a decision," Dr. Bruener said. "We need to look at these laws again."

VERY interesting.

See, if I were woke, I would say the oppressive authorities were being tattoophobic.

After all, if a 10-year-old boy deeply identifies with the ink on his arm, who are we to deny him? Getting a tattoo or not getting a tattoo isn't a binary choice: It exists on a spectrum.

And yet the woke New York authorities and the American Academy of Pediatrics is rather hypocritical when it comes to these two standards.

Amazing. The article quotes an official with the American Academy of Pediatrics who says that kids don't have the "agency" to permanently alter their bodies. And yet the American Academy of Pediatrics fully endorses gender transitions for minors.

Two scenarios:

Let your son get a little bit of ink on his arm?

Let your son be castrated, his penis cut off, breast implants put in, and weekly injections of estrogen given?

Pretty messed up, huh??

And for the "ACKSHUALLY" crowd that says these procedures aren't done on little kids, here's some receipts in thread form:

The claim that "Gender surgeries are not performed on minors" is easily disproven. Let's put an end to this complete lie once and for all.

On the flip side, the woke hypocrites say it's okay if a girl's breasts are cut off, her uterus removed, and a flap of skin is harvested from her forearm to be made into a fake penis. That's just "healthcare."

But if that same little girl wanted a small tattoo of a heart on that same forearm, her parents would be thrown in the dungeon.

Hmm.
