THE MOST INTERESTING VIDEOTAPE I'VE EVER COME ACROSS

A while ago, Mom brought me a videotape from the thrift shop. When I put it in my VCR and began to watch this tape, I found it contained such a variety of rare and interesting things I had to stop the tape in the middle and I haven't watched or tried to write about this videocassette until today.

The tape starts off with most of an episode of a program called "Our Century" narrated by Burt Lancaster. I have no idea of the year, but IMDB mentions 1988 in connection with this show. The program aired on A&E and the episode was entitled, "Crown and Crisis."

Break 1: Ford, Disney Cruise Lines, MCI, promo "Slaughter on 10th Avenue."

Break 2: Roundup and Green Sweep, IBM laser printers, Cycle, promo "Challenge of the Seas" hosted by Ted Danson, Sprint environmental campaign voiced by Candice Bergen.

Break 3: Cutlass Supreme, EDS, promo "World in Action", promo "A&E Classroom", promo "The Agatha Christie Hour."

There followed a partial of highlights of the OP National Snowboarding Championship broadcast on TSN, year unknown:

Break 1: Soloflex.

Break 2: Country USA from Time Life.

Between programs promo "Remington Park Derby Race", promo upcoming program.

This was followed by the first few seconds of the opening of kickboxing.

Then the tape went into the first couple minutes of what seemed like a movie about a guy traveling to San Francisco to take part in a poker tournament which used Kenny Rogers' "The Gambler" as its theme song, possibly "The Gambler" from 1974.

After this, there was channel surfing.

There then followed the last several minutes of the 1990 film "Mountains of the Moon."

The video then showed Global News from February 5, 1991, beginning with part of the 5:30 newscast anchored by Thalia Assuras.

It began in the midst of Bob McAdorey's entertainment news with the last few seconds of Rob Davidson's profile of The Dream Warriors.

Break 1: McDonald's club sandwiches, promo "Alfred Hitchcock Presents."

After this break, it was Don Martin with sports.

NBC's Keith Miller with profile of "This is It", an Israeli TV show satirizing the Gulf War.

Then it was "The 6:00 Report" with Mike Anscombe joining Thalia:
