In the June 14 issue of Maclean's, "The End" is about a man who died of a heart condition no one knew he had. He was the identical twin of a brother who had one. There was some suspicion that the man had a heart condition but that faded when he took up sports and was fine. The subject of the article became a teacher and was a huge athlete. Now, some people will say that he should have been tested when he was a child and if he had he would still be alive. However, if his parents had treated him differently, the man wouldn't have been able to benefit so many kid's lives through sports.

Breast cancer was a bit of a hot topic in the June issue of Chatelaine. There was a letter from a woman in Newfoundland who'd just been diagnosed with breast cancer, thanking the magazine for an article they printed in the April issue about the disease. If she's just been diagnosed with breast cancer and she lives in Newfoundland, maybe she should be retested. Seriously.

There was also an in memorium to a blogger on Chatelaine's website who died of breast cancer in April. Her father told readers to mentally swear at cancer every morning. I think this would only help the cancer grow by adding to a person's level of stress.

An article in the same issue by Rebecca "The Kike Bitch" Eckler talks about parents telling their children the circumstances under which the children were conceived. I don't know if it's a good idea to be so open about this. Besides, kids usually find out that stuff eventually.

There is an article in the same issue by a woman telling about how she ended a friendship with a woman whom she realized was never a friend to begin with. The woman is 43. I wonder why she didn't clue into the fact that this friend wasn't a friend back when they were seventeen and the friend stole the writer's date.
