A Colorado CEO was charged with assault after allegedly strangling a teenage boy at an In-N-Out restaurant.

According to the Loveland Police Department, officers were called to the scene of the popular west coast fast food restaurant after reports of a fight inside.

Police said they spoke with a 15-year-old boy who admitted that he and his friends were horsing around and splashing water on each other.

During the teenage chicanery, a nearby customer was splashed with water droplets.

Police said that the teen went to the woman's table to apologize "when an adult male accompanying the woman suddenly grabbed him, placed both hands around the front and back of his neck, pulled him down to the table and threw him backward onto the floor."

The man, later identified as 55-year-old Lucas N. Kalisher, left the burger joint before police arrived, the department said.

After listening to witness accounts and reviewing video, police identified the suspect as Kalisher, who turned himself in to police just after 10:30 p.m. on August 13, police said.

Kalisher has been charged with a felony, second-degree strangulation, and a misdemeanor count of child abuse. He was arraigned on Wednesday.

According to his LinkedIn page, Kalisher is the CEO of Summit Source Funding LLC in the Denver area.

The Loveland Police issued a statement to the public following the incident, saying that witnesses played a key role in identifying Kalisher.

"The Loveland Police Department is very appreciative of the assistance we received from the community during this investigation. This is a perfect illustration of our new Vision Statement: ONE Community, ONE Police Department, ONE Team," Loveland Police Chief Tim Doran said in a statement.

A Teen Was Slammed to the Ground at In-N-Out After Accidentally Splashing Woman with Water. Now His Attacker Has Been Sentenced

By Ingrid Vasquez  Published on February 25, 2026 12:48AM EST

Nearly two years after a teen was slammed to the ground at a Colorado In-N-Out after he accidentally splashed water on a woman, his attacker has been sentenced.

Lucas Kalisher pleaded guilty to second-degree attempted assault – strangulation, a class five felony as part of a plea deal on Monday, Feb. 23, according to the Loveland Reporter-Herald, citing court records from the 8th Judicial District Court in Fort Collins.

The 57-year-old was previously charged with Assault in the Second Degree-Strangulation and Child Abuse, but both charges were dismissed as part of the plea deal, the Loveland Reporter-Herald reported.

In addition to 30 months of probation, Kalisher, who was previously the CEO of a private equity firm, must complete an anger management evaluation and any recommended treatment, submit an apology letter to the victim, complete 120 hours of community service, and pay restitution to the victim, the Loveland Reporter-Herald and FOX 31 reported.

The sentencing comes nearly two years after Loveland Police Officers were dispatched to the In-N-Out restaurant to investigate the assault on Aug. 4, 2024.

According to a press release from the Loveland Police Department at the time, they met with a 15-year-old male who said he and two friends were inside the restaurant "engaging in horseplay by splashing water on one another."

The teenager said that during the interaction, an adult female was accidentally splashed with water, prompting him to approach her table to apologize.

According to a press release issued following the incident, an adult male accompanying the woman then "placed both hands around the front and back of [the teen's] neck, pulled him down to the table and threw him backward onto the floor."

The adult male and female departed the restaurant prior to the officers’ arrival.

After officers spent the following day interviewing witnesses and reviewing videos depicting different views of the incident, witnesses were able to come forward and identify Kalisher as the assailant.
