CELA ANNOUNCES TEMPORARY PAUSE IN PRODUCTION AND DISTRIBUTION OF BRAILLE MATERIALS
Dear braille readers
CELA has planned a temporary pause for braille production and delivery beginning October 19 while our braille services are being relocated and the machines which produce our embossed braille are being moved. We anticipate this process will require approximately 2 - 3 weeks for relocation, machine reassembly, and testing.
During this time, you will be able to put braille books on hold, and we will resume production and distribution of embossed braille, as well as mailing of printbraille books, as soon as the machines are available again.
All other formats, including electronic braille and reloading of Envoy Connects, will be available during this period.
If braille material is essential for your school or work, please make those requests as soon as possible so that they can be produced and mailed before October 19.
If you are a printbraille reader, please note that our printbraille distribution will also be on hold during this time, but you can still return printbraille books to us during this period.
We are pleased to announce that we will begin using new printbraille bags in the coming weeks. The new bags are a lighter blue colour and will now have the CELA logo. While the look of the bags is changing slightly, the process of using them remains the same. If you have some of the existing bags at home, you can continue to use them to return materials to us. Our printbraille books have a six week loan period. You can find the due date of your printbraille books by logging into CELA and visiting My account. Kindly return your books on time as others may be waiting for a copy.

On Saturday the 19th, I picked up Froggy 97 Watertown with Rowdy Yates, CHFI Toronto with oldies, Kiss 98.5 Buffalo with top forty, and Boom 99.7 Ottawa with classic hits. Astounding so few stations had any special programming on a Saturday night.
Glad I could get Rowdy Yates on Froggy 97 again last night.
Picked up the country station from Kingston on 98.9 last night.
Ashley Harvey didn't do a very good job filling in mid-days on CJBQ Belleville.
Enjoyed Greg Jackman on 95.5 Hits FM Belleville this afternoon.
Hits FM needs to update their Lockyer's Country Gardens spots. The mums aren't ready to plant; they're almost over.
Would have liked to have tuned in yesterday to the hundredth anniversary celebrations of WKBN, Youngstown, Ohio but WSYR Syracuse permanently blocks out that station.
Froggy 97 was coming in again tonight, the only catch on the FM band.
Heard some great preachers tonight on WFIL Philadelphia including a couple Pennsylvania-based ones as well as Tony Evans and Greg Laurie.
Can't believe that documentary series that follows those British children has come to an end.

ONTARIO'S LIEUTENANT-GOVERNOR UNVEILS DIGITAL CATALOG OF FRANCO-ONTARIAN STORIES
Toronto (Ontario), September 25, 2026 — The Honourable Edith Dumont, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, today unveiled the digital catalogue for the initiative “Celebrating 50 Years! Shaping the Future Together!” It was launched one year ago to mark the 50th anniversary of the Franco-Ontarian flag. The unveiling took place on Franco-Ontarian Day in the Lieutenant Governor’s Suite.
Led by the Office of the Lieutenant Governor, in partnership with the Alliance culturelle de l’Ontario and with the support of the Government of Ontario, the Ontario Arts Council, and TFO, this initiative brought together artists, organizations, and communities from across the province through a co-creation process inspired by stories from the past, the voices of the present, and aspirations for tomorrow.
The digital catalogue showcases the projects developed through this co-creation initiative. It reflects the diversity of Francophone experiences in Ontario and the collaborations that emerged over the past year. The public can now access it at www.franco50.ca.
“One year ago, we launched this initiative with the conviction that the 50th anniversary of the Franco-Ontarian flag should be celebrated by the Francophone community, in all its diversity and across the province,” said Her Honour the Honourable Edith Dumont, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario. “Today, this catalogue stands as proof of an extraordinary collective effort. It brings together the works, stories, and reflections that have emerged across Ontario over the past year and serves as the foundation for a new chapter, one that will allow these stories to continue inspiring future generations.”
“Our government is proud to support this initiative, which highlights the richness, diversity and vitality of Ontario’s Francophone community,” said Natalia Kusendova-Bashta, Minister of Francophone Affairs. “Through the financial support of the Ministry of Francophone Affairs, artists and organizations from across Ontario have been able to share their stories, showcase their creativity, and help build a cultural legacy that will continue to inspire future generations. To prepare for the next 50 years of our Francophone community, we must first understand and celebrate the past 50 years, and this catalogue offers a wonderful opportunity to do just that.”

The Alliance Culturelle de l’Ontario is proud to have supported the artists and organizations behind these 17 projects and to see, from one region to another, a shared commitment to passing on and celebrating our many voices and our rich stories,” said Patrick Breton, President of the Alliance Culturelle de l’Ontario.
The unveiling of the catalogue also marks the beginning of the initiative’s next phase. The works and stories brought together in the catalogue will serve as the foundation for an immersive digital environment currently under development. This next stage will offer the public new ways to explore achievements from across Ontario and gain a deeper understanding of the connections that unite the stories, perspectives, and communities that make up Ontario’s Francophonie.

Murders of transgender people primarily motivated by ‘intimate partner violence’ — not hate: report

Transgender people are murdered at lower rates than the overall US population — and when they are, the killer’s primary motive is usually not bias, according to a pair of researchers.
The findings, published by the right-leaning Manhattan Institute’s Vincent Lundgren and Colin Wright earlier this year, seemingly debunk claims by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and other nonprofit organizations that there is an “epidemic” of deadly violence against the trangender community driven by “transphobia” and even “white supremacy.”
“Transgender people are less likely to be murdered than the rest of the population, most transgender people are murdered by members of their own race, and intimate partner violence — not hate — is the leading identified motive for most such murders,” Lundgren and Wright found.
The researchers investigated more than 300 murder cases dating back to 2015 where the victim was transgender.
In the cases where suspects were identified, black suspects accounted for 65% of perpetrators, while white suspects accounted for 18%.
“This finding is not the result of one bad year or a handful of outlier cases,” the researchers stated.
The report noted that in 2020 — the year HRC attributed the deaths of “our Black trans siblings” to “an epidemic of violence” fueled by “systems of white supremacy” — not a single white suspect was identified in the cases the Manhattan Institute researchers verified.
Confirmed hate crimes were only found in 3.3% of cases the Manhattan Institute studied.
“The leading identified circumstance of the murders was instead intimate partner violence,” the researchers wrote. “Other common circumstances included sex-work encounters, disputes, robbery, and other forms of interpersonal conflict.”
“In other words, the dominant pattern is not hateful white men hunting down black transgender victims because of racism and transphobia,” they continued. “It is violence between people who know each other, sleep with each other, live around each other, or encounter each other in high-risk contexts.”
The researchers also found that between 2010-2014 the transgender murder rate was roughly one-seventh what it was for the general population.
During that 5-year stretch, 3.66 per 100,000 transgender people were murdered. The rate among the general population was 25.8 per 100,000.
They found the homicide rate of young black transgender women (69% of all victims) to be “approximately one quarter that of young Black non-transgender men.”
“Misleadingly, these male victims are usually compared with black non-transgender women (females), which makes their homicide rate look unusually high for ‘women,’” the researchers noted.
HRC did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.

With having a friend previously deceased this is an act imho by Gilles (a frenchman from the east coast).
So you have the alleged, never proven death of children by mass murder case which began in 2020. (Now National Day of Reconciliation which is most of September and all year with land acknowledgment..). History with Gilles and this church building when he was 20 something, or nearly 50 years ago.
The congregation is referenced by him as being a type of target perhaps an operating evil spirit has allowed an open "door"?
In summary, I present this analysis in consideration. In comparison to occultic type rituals we have come to know.
The native community I would agree needs to be held responsible as well as the "church", this congregation (currently unhoused)and the church in general as a wake up.
I do see this as an attack on Christianity and as history has shown, during times of trial, His body can grow. Not as the world views it but in a way we cannot clearly see.
