PSALM 131

This psalm was recited as the Hebrews ascended Mount Zion to Jerusalem for the feast days.

v1: Humility is the most important thing Christians need if we are to live life in our Saviour.

See the verse in Proverbs about a haughty look.

Everybody has their own unique strengths, skills, credentials, and the like. However, people like to think they can concern themselves in areas where they have no idea what they're doing.

There are just some things that, being only human, a person can not understand. This doesn't mean you shouldn't try to comprehend as much as possible, but there are just some things one will never understand in this life.

v2: See the passage in Hebrews about milk and meat.

v3: We aren't trusting in our own strength, knowledge and ability, Lord, we're trusting in you to bless Your people and to work all things for good.

The fruit of this attitude is great peace, that peace that passes understanding.
