Dad and Son Forbidden from Donating Sperm After They Allegedly Fathered More Than 600 Children

A dad and his son have been banned from donating their sperm after they allegedly fathered more than 600 children.

According to legal documents filed in French in Quebec's Superior Court on March 18, and obtained by PEOPLE, a woman alleged that Philippe Normand and Dominik Seelos supplied their sperm to help her conceive outside of regulated fertility clinics.

The unnamed plaintiff — a mom to four children — claimed in the documents that when she agreed to the sperm donations with Normand and Seelos, the father-son pair made false representations about the number of children already conceived through their donations. She also alleged that both promised to limit their donations to a certain number of families or children.

Normand, the documents state, allegedly agreed to limit his donations to a maximum of 10 families, with an exception to complete already initiated families. Seelos, meanwhile, was limited to a maximum of 25 children, with similar exceptions.

"These promises influenced the plaintiff’s decision to use their reproductive material," the legal documents, translated from French, state.

According to the legal documents filed by the mother of four, the woman's first three children were conceived between 2009 and 2012 using Normand's sperm.

Her fourth child was conceived years later in 2017 using Seelos' sperm, per the legal filing.

Years ago, the woman claimed she discovered that Normand is biologically the father of Seelos, according to the documents. This information, she alleged, was hidden from her, and, in turn, caused concern about the accuracy of information the men provided.

The woman looked into the situation more, and, according to legal documents, she found that Normand’s donations allegedly resulted in at least 162 children or pregnancies in about 90 families, while Seelos’s donations allegedly resulted in about 451 children or pregnancies.

The woman filed a request for a court order to permanently order the two men to cease providing sperm to third parties. However, both Normand and Seelos "contested," per the translated documents.

Though the father-son pair did not admit to the allegations raised by the woman, they denied making any commitments with her regarding the number of children conceived through their sperm donations, according to the documents.

The court order was eventually granted, and it now prohibits the two men from providing sperm to any third parties, and they cannot contact or advertise their donations to potential recipients. Copies of the judgment must also be given to clinics where Normand and Seelos made their sperm donations, according to the legal documents.

In a statement to PEOPLE, a representative for Quebec's Superior Court said, "Judges and no one affiliated with the courts may comment on a judgment."

It is not clear if either Normand or Seelos has legal representation to comment on their behalf.
