Justin Legg has a tough critic in the kitchen — his 7-year-old daughter.

The 30-year-old dad recently posted a TikTok that showed a stern letter that he received from his daughter Ellie Kate about his cooking. "Does anyone else’s kid write them notes about their cooking?😂," he captioned the video.

"We were making fajitas that night, and I told her that she could have a cheese quesadilla, and then she wandered off to her room and wrote the note," Justin tells PEOPLE, who shares his daughter with wife Chelsea Legg.

In the letter, Ellie Kate politely tells her dad that she is not a fan of his cooking, but she appreciates that he makes her food.

"Dear, Dad I wanted to rite this note fore you but I do not realy like this food you are ckoocing. But I appreciate yere cooking but tis is not for me. I love you Dad," the note reads.

Justin says he and his wife had a "good laugh" about the note because "it was so unexpected."

"She typically voices her opinion on our cooking, but this was the first time we have received a letter from her," he shares. "We thought it was super cute, and we love that she is able to express her feelings in a positive way!"

Many agreed with the couple, calling Ellie Kate a "communicative queen" in the comments of Justin's TikTok, which has now gone viral.

"She’s really good at communicating her feelings in a healthy way," another user wrote, while someone else noted that the 7-year-old had a "very mature" way of expressing herself.

Though the note was a surprise, Justin says his daughter typically lets her parents know what she would prefer to eat — which is usually macaroni and cheese or chicken nuggets.

The pair was also shocked to see how fast the video took off.

"We are definitely surprised by all of the views, and there have been so many comments that have made us laugh out loud," he tells PEOPLE. " We have also enjoyed the positive and uplifting comments as well."
