A "SHORT" LETTER AND A TESTIMONY OF HEALING AND RESTORATION IN THE LORD JESUS CHRIST

(in response to this blog by Alex Horton) https://alexhortonblog.blogspot.com/ :

Intro:

The weather, while being colder has been warm enough for me to begin replacing the fence which encompasses my garden area in the backyard. It has two gates and winds around and underneath a set of outside stairs to my upper neighbor's back entrance.

Some of the time it was sunny and fortunately not too much wind. Average wind-chill was -5 Celsius, which isn't too harsh if you keep moving. Keeping from freezing was not too difficult for me during this project. I was blessed enough to complete about two-thirds of the sixty foot length. I started Saturday with about three hours and again Monday and Tuesday (mid to late afternoons).

I have been working alone as a "disabled" individual. This is due to a major spinal deficiency, then a severe injury and subsequent, dicey surgery. After many years of healing and restoration I would normally expect (in the Lord) to work for about two to three hours a day. The days are sporadic and the physical level required is moderate sometimes more or less) on days when I feel strong enough.

The Project:

So far this endeavor, while being fairly physically demanding (for myself) has been met with ten hours of effort over a three day time frame. This, in and of itself is a small miracle and I rejoice in the Lord and His blessings bestowed upon me daily.

I should note that only one of the posts has required replacement thus far. General digging around, straightening and recompacting the remainder of which has ensued. The total estimate of time, including two gates to be built and installed with hinges and latching hardware will be twenty hours or so.

The layout is jagged but only four feet in height. Basically it consists of eight, eight foot panels where each are comprised of two pressure treated two by fours and about thirteen or fourteen one by six boards as pickets, four feet long, spaced one and a half inches.

The two by four rails were attached to the posts after they were made plum and recompacted. Next the one by six boards which are eight feet long are cut in half, making them four feet each. Each board requires four screws and the result of cutting yields one hundred pickets from fifty original boards as they were ordered and supplied.

Next is install of the pickets with screws employing a small chair to negate the amount of up and down bending or squatting required of me. Four screws in each, times one hundred boards is four hundred (inch and a half) screws, plus the ones I clumsily dropped, due mostly to some mild suffering of numb fingers from the cold. It is difficult to handle the screws and screw gun with gloves on, however moving quickly helps to keep the blood flowing, as anyone who has done any level of outdoor activity in late fall or wintertime can attest to.

Nature:

I am reminded of a scripture that teaches us to love and worship our Creator NOT the creation. Hallelujah! Glory to the Father!

The crows and the odd raven, hawk or osprey, squirrels and rabbits outside have been a real joy to listen to and observe. The smaller birds must be busy building or insulating their nests lately during this cooler, more seasonal weather.

My inside pets are Tigger the kitty cat and Coco my small bunny. Coco is indoors only, with the small exception of a pen outside occasionally in summer). Tigger is thirteen and still very active and healthy. He normally will join me in the garden to play but not so much when the weather is cool and dampish. He keeps the foot of my bed warm with great commitment. (Insert smile here).

In summary:

Some people asked "Why did you start so late in the year?". To which I replied, "It was God's timing, not mine."

I normally enjoy and try to embrace each season experienced in (this) southern Ontario outdoors. I am thankful for climate change and unpredictability. (Insert shaking my head emoji here regarding "climate change". LOL. Watch for another comment or post from me coming on this topic of deception and gas-lighting abuse by the enemy).

Hallelujah! Glory to the Father!

His grace is sufficient for me.

We are more than conqueror's in Christ.

The peace that surpasses all understanding.

He conquered sin and death.

(Debt) Paid in full.

We overcome by: the blood of the Lamb, the Word of our testimony, and love not our lives unto death.

Rev. 22:20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

Closing:

Today there is wind and about an inch of light to moderate blowing snowy snow and a high of just minus ten (including wind-chill factor), which was a perfect time to be with the Lord and read up on Alex's Blog. The sun breaks are gorgeous from this side of the window. I have not visited the blogs here very often I must confess, but have never been disappointed when I do.

As always, the Lord shows up when we seek Him. Therefore I felt led to share by responding with this short letter and being personally blessed in the process. Well, it was intended to be short but has become rather lengthy. I hope that it in even some small way is a blessing to whomever stumbles across it.

Thanks for your posts Alex and for being a brother, a "B.I.C." (Brother in Christ) :).

Mtw. 10:16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

where: Lobster = a serpent of sorts, Dove = dove. (a nick-name I feel the Lord gave to me).
