By Bryan Trottier. Toronto: Penguin Random House Canada, 2022.
A satisfying read for sports fans and others.
This is the autobiography of NHL Hall of Famer Bryan Trottier. You will really feel like you're getting a glimpse into Trottier's childhood on a ranch outside a small town in Saskatchewan and he'll take you through the hocky and other highlights of his life.
What most impressed me about this book was how it busts the dumb jock stereotype. Trottier does this with other players he talks about somewhat, but of course he really does this with himself. Trottier certainly comes across as the type of man who can quite ably do anything he puts his mind to and Trottier has put his mind to a lot more than whacking a puck around in his six plus decades on this planet.
