We are not backward or narrow-minded,
As you appear to suppose,
We possess within a common sense,
That which our reason knows.
The identity you've assigned yourself
Enters not into our minds,
More important to us
You're our friend and neighbour,
So warm, so caring, so kind.
What you attribute to cowardice
May in fact be God's common grace,
keeping you from destroying forever
Your beautiful voice and lovely face.
Praise the One who made you uniquely,
For so true the statement wrings,
That every bit that constitutes you
Are all one woman's things.
The ilumination of yellow
You think you've sene
Is the plethora of shades
Of both red and green.
