We are indeed living in sad times when even Christian organizations are saying it's all right for Christian parents to tell their kids about the man in the red suit, but this Christian article gives lots of excellent reasons why that is the exact wrong thing to do.
Incidentally, I kind of even doubt whether St. Nicholas even existed. Goodness knows the Catholic church has lied about and fabricated so much else.
