The April issue of Readers Digest contains a reprint of an article from 1933 in which Helen Keller talks about what she would do if she had the ability to see for three days. To quote Talibam!:
It's fun to think about what might have been,
But that's a bad idea
Cause you'll reach for the gin.
The book choice in the same issue is the story of how a Toronto food bank started offering fresh vegetables and doing other neat things to improve what it's patrons were receiving. It was a good read. I think I'll pick up a copy of the book.
The April 22 issue of Maclean's has an article about the inconvenience to municipalities of students leaving items on the side of the road for passersby to haul away. I don't know why such a thing should be illegal or why governments would have a problem with it. Better to give a TV or piece of furniture a new home than to have it end up in the dump.
Update 5/31: The actual Talibam! lyric I was referring to is:
It's nice to hypothesize
What might have been,
But that's a bad idea
'cause you'll reach for the gin.
