MADOC'S OPEN MIC THIS FRIDAY FEBRUARY 7 6:30 P.M. AT THE LEGION

Dear Friends:

Looking forward to seeing everybody this Friday!! :D

I know people have been practicing and getting ready to play and others are just keeping the date on their calendar to come out and have a good time.

There has been a lot of talk recently about the atmosphere at the Legion. Too Bright!! We've been hearing - has been the main one. So just want to let you know that we are working on it!! And you'll see some changes THIS week. (: Lower lights. Curtains on the walls around the stage - temporarily covering the dart boards. So that NO musician needs to be nervous about being a target! :D Improved stage lighting. And other changes are in the works!!

We are happy to have Jerry Whyte bringing his sound equipment and helping us all to sound our best. And I wonder what the February Mocktail of the month will be?? Guess we'll find out Friday night - but sure that Tracey is working on it. (:

So come on out for Live Local Music - and the company of fellow musicians and a friendly audience.

See you Friday!!

FOOD NOTES: A MEAL, A DESSERT AND A SNACK

Munchos are just so good.

Had gravy with the lamb I had for dinner tonight. It was good, but I think I'll continue to eat lamb the usual way.

For a great dessert, mix butterscotch pudding in a bowl with some Cool Whip and garnish with a couple maraschino cherries.

NATURE NOTES: BIRDS OF PREY

Heard a raven out front the other morning.

Heard an owl while outside just now.

There's nothing quite like the sound of snow crunching under your feet.

MANLY NOTES: SPORTS AND A FLYING MACHINE

Canadian sports fans, do not boo the American national anthem. Don't take this tariff thing out on the citizens.

Quite something that Huey flying over a few weeks ago.

Too bad the Bills got beat out for the Super Bowl, whatever went on there.

RADIO-RELATED STUFF: LOCAL CATCHES AND A TRONTO PASSING

County FM Picton continues to come in with an excellent signal.

100.5 Fresh FM Peterborough was coming in last night.

Sad to hear of the death of Toronto radio legend John Donabie.

FOOD NOTES: WINTER FOOD

Ever made soup with V8 juice?

My two favourite kinds of bread: French and Italian.

Something feels so right about eating an orange in the  morning.

NATURE NOTES: THINGS IN THE WINTER AIR

Glad to be greeted by the calls of a chickadee followed by a nuthatch when I stepped outside early last Saturday morning.

Heard a chickadee giving its mating call the other day.

The temperature the other night took a precipitous drop within just a couple hours.

Jupiter was in the night sky tonight beside the moon.
