Picked up Live 88.5 Ottawa Sunday morning with what sounded like a repeat of the morning show.

Picked up CIUT Toronto Sunday morning with Gospel show.

It was good to be able to listen to Radio 95.1 Rochester a lot of Tuesday.

Picked up CHUM-FM Toronto Wednesday night with "The Hot Five at Eight."

Heard the well-known narrator of the King James Bible and many talking books Alexander Scourby voicing some commercials on a couple old TV shows I watched yesterday.

Watched season three of SCTV on YouTube over the past few weeks. I had seen some of its episodes back 20 years ago when I was a real SCTV fanatic, but at that time I did not realize just how talented Robin Duke and Tony Rosato are and were. The staff announcer they had that season was killer, too.

MUSICAL WANDERINGS: BILLY JOEL, FALLOUT BOY AND SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT

A few months ago I listened to some Billy Joel albums and was reminded just how good a songwriter he is.

Speaking of which, I don't mind that the events on Fallout Boy's version of "We Didn't Start the Fire" aren't in chronological order. The song needed an update and these guys do a pretty good job.

Today is Jessye Norman's birthday. Too bad she's no longer around to celebrate.

The war on women apparently continues unabated. As radical gender activism has overrun progressive institutions, universities have been at the forefront of the push to deny reality. And Johns Hopkins went full anti-reality recently.

 

In order to be more “inclusive,” the school’s LGBTQ+ glossary defined women as “a non-man attracted to non-men.”

 

In case there was any confusion as to just how absurd this definition is, the glossary helpfully explains how erasing women is actually good. “While past definitions refer to ‘lesbian’ as a woman who is emotionally, romantically, and/or sexually attracted to other women, this updated definition includes non-binary people who may also identify with the label,” it continues.

 

Nailed it. What makes it even more absurd is that the definition of a “gay man” continues the traditional definition. Author J.K. Rowling, no stranger to the ridiculous nonsense of woke gender ideology, noticed the inconsistency.

Modern Left Is Often Blatantly Anti-Women Whether it comes to transgender athletes competing against females, or allowing biological males into women’s spaces, the left has fully embraced radical gender activism. The party that once claimed to represent women now purposefully ignores their wishes. Transgender and non-binary individuals are now lumped into an all-encompassing category in a direct repudiation of feminism.

 

Amazingly, the intellectual incongruence has apparently never been considered by woke universities. Or considered and quickly dismissed in favor of more woke virtue signaling. What’s perhaps even more impressive is how quickly and powerfully the left has closed ranks on redefining reality.

 

Criticizing anything remotely connected to the trans or non-binary viewpoint is now grounds for immediate expulsion. Rowling may be the most prominent example, with enormous backlash against her for speaking up for her gender.

 

Naturally, Johns Hopkins removed the glossary entirely after people noticed its nonsensical definition. The crime, you see, is people noticing, not the erasure of wom…non-men.

 

As one satire account noted, it’s apparent that woman is now outdated and offensive at elite institutions.

How long until we’re all celebrating “National Non-Man Day?” Or seeing proclamations from Joe Biden and the White House on the contributions of “non-men?” How long until women becomes an offensive, unsayable word in polite society?

 

It might sound ridiculous, but as ridiculous as defining women as “non-men?”

To walk in the way of Jesus is to walk outside of worldly religions. This path in the only one small gate is the walk through this world of evil ways: it is a walk of the straight path led by God's light that sees this world for what it is.

When you are seeing it for what it is the snakes and snares are removed from your way.

Walk in dominion and authority over the way of this life. We as God's children through Jesus Christ are by God's Holy Spirit  who walk not within the walls of modern-day Jericho but have been marching around its walls for the seven centuries three times over while wearing the armour and carrying the Word of the double-edged sword that all evil fears.

Love your neighbour as yourself but, in these end days, do not let them into your home until you know what they will be bringing with them. Turn up the heat in the furnace of the fire of your heart and if it burns them they will not want to enter your dwelling where there are no idols for them to worship. Become not a fisherman but a fisher of men from your dwellingplace in God's boat of salvation that only faith in Jesus Christ can propel forward.

Be in the supernatural way of God's reality and begin to see the unnatural reality of religious ways of man's kinds in this fallen world. Keep your lamp full of God's oil so you will not stumble and become lost in its darkness.

God's Word is the only word that creates good and destroys evil. In the name of Jesus Christ all sins and sadness are washed away by the redemption and salvation of the cross of Calvary where He died for you. 

Why are we here? For God's purpose and glory to stand with God as evil falls, as the trans world implodes before us onto our adversary the liar. A season of restoration is upon us as the virtual titan's world implodes around him (meaning Satan) under our feet.

If we fail to love our neighbour as ourself we fail to love God's way as He loves us.

Canada gives father who raped daughter a light sentence because he is black

The details of this case turn the stomach. So do the details of the idiotic, incomprehensible legal system that produces this kind of result:

 

 

In the summer of 2019, a baby was born in Nova Scotia with "serious medical complications and significant developmental delays." Concerns by a medical geneticist led to police becoming involved. When the mother, 23, was discovered sexting her father during a visit to the neonatal intensive care unit, it all made sense.

 

You'd be forgiven for looking away. It's awful. The mind recoils even from thinking about it, let alone dwelling on it for any amount of time.

 

The correct response in this case would be to jail the father for this unspeakable crime. He's at fault. He should spend considerable time in prison.

 

But because it's Canada, and because it's 2023, and because nearly every major institution in the world has been infected by wokeism, authorities declined to do that. Why?

 

You know why.

 

At trial, the Crown had argued that the father should spend four to six years in jail, based on sentences that had been handed out in similar situations. ...

 

The trial court, and a majority of the appeal court, didn't buy the Crown's argument. Why? Because the offender was remorseful and was determined unlikely to re-offend.

 

Another reason was that he is Black.

 

I would imagine that the "other reason" was in fact the main reason. Pretty much every criminal will, if given the chance, express "remorse" and an intent to not "re-offend." Judges have a keen ability to see through that drivel. Likely the only reason the judge decided otherwise in this case is because, yes, the defendant is black.

 

"The moral culpability of an African Nova Scotian offender has to be assessed in the context of historic factors and systemic racism, as was done in this case," wrote the trial judge, with whom the majority of the appeal court agreed. "Sentencing judges should take into account the impact that social and economic deprivation, historical disadvantage, diminished and non-existent opportunities and restricted options may have had on the offender's moral responsibility."

 

The sheer infantilization of this criminal is something to behold. These kinds of policies are always implicitly patronizing, of course, because they assume that, say, black defendants are somehow operating at a lower level than white ones and thus deserve a break. But the judge in this case just stated it outright:

 

"The moral culpability of an African Nova Scotian offender has to be assessed in the context of historic factors and systemic racism, as was done in this case," wrote the trial judge, with whom the majority of the appeal court agreed.

 

Disgraceful stuff. As the Post notes, the offender in question had an abusive, at-times horrific upbringing in his own life; that sort of thing is always considered in ultimate sentencing guidelines. So is the fact that both the father and daughter are mentally handicapped. There's no need to bring his race into the question; it's irrelevant.

 

But of course they had to do it, because everything has to be about race these days.

 

This kind of drivel is a mind-virus that destroys justice.
