By Judy Rever. Toronto: Random House Canada, 2018.
As a nine year old, I remember watching the horrors of the Rwandan genocide unfold every morning on "Canada A.M." I, too, believed the Hollywood narrative of the bad guy Hutu against the good guy Tutsi until I read this book.
While Rever never denies the crimes the Hutu did commit against the Tutsi, she sheds light on the terrible doings of the Rwandan Patriotic Front, it's leadership and membership, and it's crimes in Rwanda, Zaire and beyond.
