Dear Faithful Friends.

We at the Anchor of Hope Pregnancy and Family Care Centre would like to wish you and your family a Very Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year!

I pray you and your family are healthy and are able to enjoy each other at this most wonderful time of the year, even if it is in new ways.

No matter the circumstances around us, the reason we celebrate is because of the Hope that was given to us over 2,000 years ago.

God sent us His most precious gift; His Son, Jesus. The One who came to earth to sacrifice Himself that we might be saved. He is the reason we can celebrate. We do have much to be thankful for.

If we are healthy, we can be thankful.

If we have a roof over our heads, we can be thankful.

If we have family or friends we can chat with, we can be thankful.

As we look at this Christmas Season and the New Year soon to come, lets built a list we can be thankful for. Let’s choose to look at things with a grateful heart.

There have been many clients we had the honor to care for over 2020, one in particular comes to mind that demonstrates the choice to be thankful.

Concerned she maybe pregnant, a young lady entered the Centre. We welcomed her in. While creating a file, her peer counselor listened to this beautiful young lady share the reason’s she believed she was unable to become a parent.  As they waited together for the results of the pregnancy test, her peer counselor asked her some questions in the hope that the questions would help her see a more complete picture.  These were questions she may not have thought of on her own but could ponder even after leaving. As her three minutes came to an end, she was given the opportunity to see her results for herself. She was to scared to even look, she asked her counselor to look and give her the results. It was negative. A huge sigh of relief came out of her. The panic was gone. She chatting for a little while and then left the centre.

Sometimes we wish there was more time with a client. That being said we can be thankful for the time we were given. We had the opportunity to share Gods love, even if only for a few minutes. We do our best to partner with Him and know He can plant seeds quickly.  He will water those seeds over time.

Any time we have with a client is precious. We are thankful for the opportunity we did have that day and all the opportunities we have had over the years.  Some maybe short and others longer but all are a divine appointment.

Our mission is to actively reach every individual in the Greater Central Hastings area who is facing a crisis pregnancy or pregnancy related issue, and provide hope now and into the future.

Would you consider joining us in carrying out this mission. As we share the love of Jesus Christ.  Lives are being impacted and changed because of supporters like yourself.

1. Commit to praying for the greater community, our interactions with clients and for our team.

Monthly donors are always appreciated as it helps to build stability.

3. Be willing to serve. Volunteers and committee members are needed so that the team can grow and expand the services needed.

 

As you gather together with friends, family and loved ones in person or virtually may this Christmas season, and the coming New Year, be filled with thankfulness, faith, hope and love. Thank you for all of your support!
