One of the things about the Book of Jonah that has always stuck out for me is how God wanted Jonah to go to Nineveh. They weren't God's chosen people, yet God wanted Jonah to go there and tell the Ninevites to repent, which they did.
A few decades later, however, we read about Nineveh's impending judgment in the Book of Nahum.
The Assyrians became the people we call Jews today. Pray the prophecies that are found in the Book of Nahum. Christians can be sure this is right in the eyes of God and not a sin because it is the very word of God you will be praying.
As an aside, could Nahum 2 3-4 be foretelling the invention of the automobile?
