52 Front St. N., Campbellford, Ontario.
This restaurant's Facebook page describes their food as "pub fair", but it is really so much more than that.
I and two other people ate their recently. I had grilled pesto chicken on a bun, another person had taco poutine and the third person had their lunch combo of a small bowl of soup, a small salad and a small sandwich.
I know I and at least one of the other people enjoyed their food quite a lot.
The staff were friendly and efficient.
The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting.
There is one minor complaint, though. 52 North has a garage door type thing they leave open on nice days to provide the ambience from the street. This is a good idea, but I would caution them to put up a screen or something over the door as having it open lets in flies and bees.
By the way, for dessert, try the mud fight cake.
The frequently zany scribblings of a well-rounded man with passionate opinions. Hey, it's better than "Something I put up because I needed to rant before my head exploded."

THE GOURMET RESTAURANT
10511 Hwy. 7, Carleton Place, Ontario.
While on a bus trip recently I ate at this restaurant and found it a pleasant experience.
The staff were friendly, patient and helpful.
The food was good and the prices were reasonable. Most of the people I was traveling with took advantage of the seniors menu, but I had the regular fish and chips. You got two huge pieces of fish, lots of fries and a significant quantity of actual salad on the side which came with a dressing that was delicious. It only cost 18 dollars with tax. Everyone else was satisfied with their food, too.

RADIO-RELATED STUFF: NEWS FROM THE QUINTE REGION AND BEYOND
A few weeks ago while in a local business I heard a country radio station from Fredericton.
During the last week of August, Ted Bradford was filling in for Rick Kevin on Rock 107 while also doing his mid-day shift on CJBQ.
CKOL's 100.7 transmitter has been missing for weeks now.
Sucks Don Cherry's "Grapeline" isn't returning.
I enjoyed "Just a Minute" on BBC Radio Four Monday. A show where the contestants are the panel. Cool.
Also enjoyed "Paul Sinha's General Knowledge" on Radio Four Tuesday. A unique program indeed.
Sucks about Roger Christian being fired from Star 102.5 Buffalo.
