Most importantly, the people whom we call Jews today are, for the most part, not the same ethnic group to which Paul refers in the second chapter of Romans. Revelation 2 9 and 3 9 bear this fact out.
Jesus' disciples were not Jews, except for Judas Iscariot: they were Galaleans.
When it comes to Paul being a "Jew", we have to make a distinction between Saul, who had made it his mission to kill all Christians and who had progressed further in the religion of the Pharesies than any of his countrymen (Gal.1 13.)
Jesus was not born into a family of modern-day Jewish stock: He was born into the Hebrew tribe of Judah, which is not really the same ethnicity.
The reason the Jews were kicked out of so many European countries was because of their unfair moneylending practices and attempts to monopolize control of commerce.
Piper will mention some obscure Ukrainian guy but will not mention the fact Lenen and Trotsky were Jewish and the number of Christians killed under Russian communism.
The frequently zany scribblings of a well-rounded man with passionate opinions. Hey, it's better than "Something I put up because I needed to rant before my head exploded."

THE UPSIDE OF ANGER
This was a great movie!
This film told a good story of the events that ensue after a husband disappears, leaving his wife and four daughters to fend for themselves. It also has a wonderful and touching surprise ending.
This movie is reminiscent of "American Beauty." However, as dark as "The Upside of Anger" can get at times, I would also venture to say that, unlike "American Beauty", it can be called a sophisticated comedy.
A few quibbles, though:
What did Teri and the girls live on?
There is almost no way the management of a radio station would hire a kid just out of high school to do production, especially not in a market like Detroit.
In real life, a guy who starts seriously coming on to a woman the very day after her husband leaves would not be as sensitive and caring as Denny.

JOHN PIPER-THERE IS NO PARTIALITY WITH GOD PART TWO
Though I agree with the main thrust of this sermon, Piper neglects to mention cases such as that of the Davis Indians, to whom God and His principles were revealed before missionaries reached that tribe with the Gospel.

LA TRASH POP TRIO THE CIGARETTE BUMS ARE COMING TO YOUR CITY! (FOR FANS OF THE BLACK LIPS & THE STOOGES)
"a Dylan-meets-Daniel Johnston
meets-Replacements-meets-Beefheart smash-up that's a real pleasure to watch.
The Bums play repetitious, folksy stanzas with a snot-nosed, garage-band
delivery, and they throw in an occasional, speedy jazz-intoned riff for
flare."
-LA Weekly
Latchkey garage punks from all over CA gather for the
monster they call the Cigarette Bums. Started by Steven Carrera in late 2009,
the band began with various members that recorded two 7"s, a few EPs and
one album entitled HOLY SMOKES. The band currently features drummer Austin Ash,
guitarist/background vocalist Jaime Rosas, and is often guested by various
musicians from the Los Angeles community.
The band recently
finished recording their follow up LP Goofs on the Loose at Big Bad Sound, a
converted house studio located in the hills of Silverlake. The album includes
unique tracks such as "Strange" in which the band was accompanied by
14 augmented players to create a psych jam that included instruments such as
the sitar, organ, moog, African drums, as well a huge chorus. With influences
ranging from The Stooges to The Black Lips the band is gearing up to showcase
their brand of energized 60's garage punk and power pop to the U, S, of A on
their first national tour.

The ‘Amazing Jam’! Even more amazing music...

This Sunday afternoon at The Black Dog in Stirling. We’ll be playing music there for about 3 hours. Welcomed by both staff and the patrons in the lounge and restaurant, our music is appreciated.
Once a month on Sunday afternoons. This Sunday afternoon (May 17th). Time is from 2 pm until 5.
The format is a ‘song circle’ with the lead changing from person to person among the group. Everyone has the option to offer a tune when their turn comes around, or pass to their neighbour if they’d rather. Depending on the music, the mood, choice of instruments, etc. some will choose to support whoever is leading a song, others may prefer to sit out and listen. DSCF1663
We invite you to come out and join us, making music with old friends; for sure, there’ll be some new faces too.

Remember....
“Bring your instruments, your voices and your music. It’s all unplugged and it’s all good! Guitar, bass, harmonica, banjo, mandolin, ukulele, fiddle, accordion, flute, celtic harp – the list goes on.
“There may be only 4 or 5 of us or maybe a whole room full of musicians. A place for ‘first-timers’ and experienced players alike. A good bunch of people playing all kinds of music together. People in their teens all the way through proto-geezers. Maybe even an DSCF1647sincipient-geriat or two....
“The blues does not rule. Any acoustic music from punk to polka!”

Hope to see you Sunday afternoon in Stirling.
