Woman Pays $600 for Adults-Only Spa Experience, but Walks in to Find a Child 'Jumping' Around While His Father Sleeps

Vacation is supposed to be relaxing, especially when paying extra for a child-free experience.

For one Reddit user and her husband, who chose to spend their Thanksgiving on a cruise, the last thing they thought they’d see or hear at the spa was a kid running around.

“I paid an extra $600 for access to the ADULTS ONLY spa for my husband and me for the week,” the Reddit user emphasized in her post. “Some entitled guy brought his kid into the spa!”

As the user and her husband tried to relax, they couldn’t help but notice a child, estimated to be "between 5 and 7 years old," “jumping and squirming around” while his father "was lying on a lounger sleeping" and "ignoring the kid."

Although the elementary schooler “didn't say anything,” he was "clearly bored and quite active and distracting,” according to the Reddit user.

Thankfully, a spa attendant noticed the child and nicely explained to the father that “the spa was for adults only and to please take the child out."

However, when his mother arrived to collect the kid, the Reddit user heard her saying: “Oh, honey, THEY don't want you in here, so now we all have to leave."

This struck a nerve with the Reddit user, who was already on edge.

“I mean really!! Even if the spa wasn't explicitly adults only, why on earth would you think a spa - a place of quiet relaxation - would be remotely of interest to a child," they wrote, annoyed by the snarky comment.

The user even noted that the child could have been enjoying any number of kid-friendly areas on the cruise, including an arcade, a designated kids’ zone, two waterslides and bumper cars.

“It’s not like there’s nowhere for the kid to go,” one commenter pointed out. “Some parents are a mess, lol.”

Another emphasized how “people think the rules don’t apply to them."

Others questioned why the mother phrased her complaint in a way that placed blame on the child, with one saying, “It wasn’t the kid’s fault that the parents can’t read and comprehend!”
