THINGS IN THE NEWS

A locomotive plant in London, Ontario owned by Caterpillar wants its workers to take a steep paycut. This seems strange since Caterpillar got a bailout from the U.S. government a couple years ago.

President Soetoro says the U.S. military will be cut by perhaps as much as a trillion dollars over the next ten years with many of the cuts focused on the Pentagon. Maybe he should close down all those military bases in foreign countries where there hasn't been a war in ages.

Last night a mosk in Lavalle Quebec was vandalised with stars of David and the words "Vive David" spraypainted on the outside wall. Another example of the hatred between Jews and Moslems, except the Jews hate everybody except themselves.

A blue-finned tuna caught this year off the coast of Japan sold at auction in Tokyo yesterday for 750 thousand dollars. I guess it's three heads drove up the price.
