WELCOME 2012: THE AMAZING JAM THIS SUNDAY AFTERNOON IN MADOC

Happy New Year to you all; 2012, imagine that! Who'd 'a' thunk it?
I've heard it said that the Mayan calendar 'runs out' in the year 2012, and apparently there are people who are -- in consequence -- fully expecting the world to end this year.... Naturally, I ran across one of 'em this past fall who informed me that modern science had confused the reckoning of days and years and in fact the world was supposed to end in October 2011. (I think it was October, but I don't remember for sure.)
In the meantime we'll still be playing and singing at the'The Amazing Coffee' in Madoc this Sunday afternoon. So come on out and join us (while you wait!) to welcome in the new year with music and song. 'The Coffee' is on the corner of Russel St. and Prince Albert just a couple of blocks south of Hwy 7. Highway 62 (Russel St.) runs right past the door!
Bring your instruments, your voices and your songs for more amazing music at our weekly acoustic jam in Madoc. We'll be starting up the tunes around 2 in the afternoon and running until 4 pm or after.

It's all unplugged and it's all good! We've had guitars and basses and harmonicas and banjos and mandolins and fiddles and accordians and flutes and saxophones and a dobro player and even a harpist with a reallynice celtic harp. (Check out the pictures.) There's a piano over in the corner that's fairly much in tune and, heck, there's even a drummer who usually manages not to deafen us playing on a snare with soft nylon brushes. And the music is just terrific. Never know who will be there but it's always worth coming out and joining in.
Thanks to everyone who comes out to play music together, "bringing it all back home".
Welcome new faces, familiar ones and small faces too. And welcome to all the people whose pleasure it is to stop by 'the Coffee' on Sunday afternoons and listen to the music while they sip their coffees, enjoy their sandwiches and pastries, use the high-speed internet...
Share a song or two, or several...
So come on out this Sunday aft and "get yer lovin' spoonful". Help us make just a spoonful of Amazing Coffee worth 2 or 3 cups of that other stuff from up the road.
